Federal Government R & D

Client:  Naval Research Lab (NRL)
Project:  Build a Laser Test System

ADS has built a long-standing relationship with the
Naval Research Lab since 1997 through user groups,
training events and systems integration.  Recently,
the NRL required ADS' expertise in LabVIEW
programming, distributed data acquisition systems, and laser and optical
engineering to help build a laster test system.  ADS" unique skills allowed
us to take over the project and quickly satisfy NRL's requirements.

Client:  NASA
Project:  Build a Low-Cost Hexapod for Flight Record Utilization

Since 1998, ADS has fulfilled
NASA's need for a strong,
small business technology
partner with engineering experience as well as software and hardware
development skills.  Through blanket purchase orders, ADS has provided
training classes in the programming language LabVIEW, software and
hardware modules for several laser and optics projects.  Currently, ADS is
working with NASA's commercialization group to build a low-cost hexapod
for flight record utilization.

Client:  EPA - National Vehicle and Fuel Emission Laboratory
Project:  Develop an Automated Emission Control System for the
            Cummis Engine

Emission standards for diesel engines have been
substantially tightened for the model year 2007.
Manufacturers claim the standards cannot be met
in a production engine.  To determine the feasibility
of these new regulations, EPA's National Vehicle and
Fuel Emission Laboratory (EPA_NVFEL) set out to
develop an emission control system to meet the new
standards demands.

EPA_NVFEL awarded ADS, the contract to develop an automated,
computer-based Emission Control System for a large diesel engine.  The
system provides the ability to remotely monitor and control a Bosch
Engine Controller through a National Instrument LabVIEW Real-time (RT)
program and PXI controller.  In addition, ADS used LabVIEW to develop
an engine simulator; redesign and recode the current ECS software
written by EPA to run under LabVIEW RT.
